1. get on VS get off

get on是「上車」，get off是「下車」。

上下車的交通工具，是公車、火車。

這些交通工具，都有平台，以供乘客站立，所以使用介系詞on，表示：站在平台上。

例句1

Don’t get on the bus at the next stop.

(不要在下一站上車。)

例句2

When he got off the bus, he thanked the bus driver.

(當他下車時，他跟公車司機道謝。)

2. turn on VS turn off

turn on是「開啟(電源/電器)」，turn off是「關閉(電源/電器)」。

She came into the room and turned on the light.

(她進入房間，並且打開電燈。)

(莎拉關燈睡覺。)

3. put on VS take off

put on是「穿上(衣物)」，take off是「脫掉(衣物)」。
